VINTAGE BONA ALLEN SPOTTED WESTERN PONY SADDLE.
This is the “Show Pony” model as shown in the catalog picture, except it has a leather covered horn and not the nickel silver type shown. Saddles were made both ways. Has an 11” seat and hooded wooden stirrups with safety guards to prevent a child’s foot from slipping through. All spots are still present, plus good off billet and tie strap, new strings and star conchos have been added. Saddle has stood the test of time, looks great for its age and would be best suited for display purposes in its present condition and not recommended for regular use unless stirrup leathers are replaced, and the saddle thoroughly checked over by a person knowledgeable in saddle repair. Would be super for any Western theme application, stage prop, etc. Tree is tight and solid, leather is pliable, but a good bit of the underside wool has shedded out. We’re sending really nice, lightly used pony saddle pad along to compensate for that issue and a good string cinch is also included.
We try to tell every truth we know of about our items, so there are no surprises. Saddle is one of the most attractive ever built, cleaned up very nice and with a little more attention, could be put right back to work. Sells as is, for the purposes mentioned earlier unless stated repairs are made.
