RARE !! ANTIQUE- VINTAGE MICHAEL J. KNOUD POLO SADDLE

Extremely RARE!  For the discriminating collector of antique or vintage Saddlery.  This beautiful saddle was produced probably during the 60's and sold at top Saddlery's across the country, such as the N.Y.
"Elite" tack stores ... M.J. Knoud's (owned by David Wright until 1986), Miller's, and Kauffman's.  It was one of the pricier brands, as Knoud's was well-known for their custom craftmanship.
It obviously was used for it's purpose which is listed on the brass as "Hunting and Polo".  It was also taken care of, as the damage is minimal for a saddle of this age, and could easily be restitched.  The tree, leather, and stitching appears to be sound other than the wear shown on the photo of the pommel.
There is a minor "speckling" within the leather of the seat.  I've tried to show that also.
There is an M.J. Knoud Jacket displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in N.Y.
