Large Antique Chinese Red Lacquer Round Wedding Marriage Storage Box
This is a beautifully hand painted wedding box in good condition. The biggest issue is that it appears that at one point someone used it as a step stool and stepped on it cracking the lid. The lid is still very solid but there are a number of crack lines along the surface and one on the underside of the lid. There are also numerous chips along the edges commensurate with it's age, which is probably 19th century. The interior of the box is also red and there is Chinese lettering inside on the lid and base. The inside smells a little musty. Please look closely at the pics for condition. It's 12 1/2" in diameter and about 7" tall. See Pics.
