Antique Leather US Cavalry Single Saddle Bag Satchel Pouch

I believe this is a World War I cavalry single saddle bag or satchel. Has US embossed in leather.  Heavy pebble grained leather is somewhat stiff. The bag is 14" long (not including the handle) and 13 inches wide.  The middle leather strap has some cracks but they do not go through to the back. The handle is quite stiff and is attached to the bag by about 1/4" of leather on either side.  I've tried to show this in the picture. Wasn't able to get good photos of the interior. There may be something missing as there are two snaps on the back of the pouch.  Owners initials on the back and name inside. Please email with any questions or additional photos. Selling as is.
