    A little Crockett History
    Oscar Crockett was born in 1887 in Pecos, Texas. He worked for C.P. Shipley in Kansas City, Missouri until 1920 when be brought the bit and spur section of the business.
    Oscar and his uncle, W. Brice opened the Crockett Bit and Spur Company there in Kansas City. Later the business was moved to Lenexa, Kansas where it became one of the largest bit and spur makers in the country.
    In 1943 Oscar moved the business to Boulder, Colorado where he employed as many as 125 craftsmen at one time.  Oscar Crockett died in 1949. His widow sold the company to James Renalde in 1951.
